What will you be doing?

Designing & developing highly resilient, highly performant and fully secure software modules for access management services with high-quality, efficient, and readable business logic code

Adhering to best practices throughout the software development lifecycle whilst working as part of a Global team delivering multiple work streams

Working with key stakeholders to discuss priorities and details across functional, non-functional and security requirements

Working with production support teams to quickly and effectively respond to any issues

Leading meetings with internal stakeholders across IT and the business engaging with PM, BA, Dev and Testing resources

Driving and influencing global teams for project-oriented work and building consensus within groups to move in the strategic direction

Seeking to improve and automate existing processes to deliver business value across the function and wider teams continuously

What we’re looking for:

Java Developer with solid skills across the software stack including SQL, SpringBoot, Unit Testing and Automated Testing

Excellent automation and scripting skills showcasing DevOPS and DevSecOPS knowledge using Jenkins, Chef, Puppet or Ansible; Scripting using Perl, Shell or Python

Track record of successful project delivery. Experience of working on large, multi-threaded, globally distributed, and complex projects

Skills that will help you in the role:

Computer Science or related discipline to showcase skills and experience across full software stack (Java microservices, DevOps/DevSecOps automation, Jenkins, Chef, Shell, Python)

Exceptional communication skills a must with ability to see and define the ‘bigger picture’ and communicate these ideas to peers through use of JIRA, Confluence and Teams

Knowledge of cloud computing and networking security (I.E authentication methods such as MA TLS, Kubernetes, OpenShift, AWS EC2, S3, Route53, Apache Tomcat, IIS)

Knowledge of Access Management & Security protocols such as SSO Federation (SAML), OAUTH2/OIDC, Cryptography (PKI, Certificate management) beneficial but not essential

You will be based in Radbroke, Knutsford. The Barclays Technology Campus just outside Manchester is our tech command centre and a vital strategic powerhouse behind our global operations. The campus is set in a 64 acre self-contained site, in a beautiful green environment and it offers unrivalled facilities for work and for play.
