Job Description

I am looking for a candidate who will play a crucial role in enhancing and refining the Payroll and People (HR) processes across my clients organisation.

Reporting to the People Systems Manager, you'll collaborate closely with various teams including the People Directorate, Digital Technology Services, and Strategic Intelligence, as well as engage with the wider community.

Your responsibilities will include maintaining a deep understanding of system functionality, providing super user support, and contributing to system enhancements and upgrades.

Responsibilities

  • Utilise your expertise in cloud-based systems and payroll to assist the People Systems Team in addressing business process requirements and system delivery under the guidance of the People Systems Manager.
  • Employ your technical proficiency to diagnose system configurations and identify root causes of issues.
  • Utilise analytical skills to gather insights from diverse sources, refine high-level information into actionable details, and distinguish user requests from underlying needs.
  • Cultivate and maintain an in-depth knowledge of Payroll and People (HR) system elements and functionalities.
  • Contribute to service delivery through the TopDesk System, ensuring adherence to SLAs and timely escalation of critical issues.
  • Execute Super User Activities and System Configuration tasks to support the People Directorate.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation of system-related business processes, ensuring alignment with new process rollouts.
  • Advocate for the OneUniversity system within the People Directorate and provide coaching as needed.
  • Collaborate with colleagues on system analysis, testing of new functionalities, and defect resolution.
  • Evaluate new releases, participate in testing, and facilitate their deployment to live environments.
  • Ensure compliance with change request protocols and communicate new/additional requirements effectively.
  • Create strong stakeholder relationships and proactively manage stakeholder expectations.

Criteria:

Essential:

  • Prior experience with cloud-based HR and Payroll systems, including implementation or enhancement and troubleshooting.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify system root causes and propose effective solutions.
  • Demonstrable analytical skills and a systematic approach to problem-solving.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll processing, legislation, and best practices.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools such as Excel and PowerBI.

Desirable:

  • Curiosity and creativity in exploring innovative solutions.
  • Strong team player with a customer-centric approach.
  • Practical experience in end-to-end process mapping.
  • Experience with Continuous Improvement tools.
