Principal Mechanical Design Engineer

A leading UK basedAerospace Engineering company based Buckinghamshireare looking to grow their talented Mechanical Design department at both the Senior and Principal Engineer level by hiringa a number of new Engineers in their Buckinghamshire based offices.

Cycle to work scheme (after a six-month probationary period)
Design Experience in a safety critical environment/industry (e.g. Defence, aerospace, nuclear, automotive, maritime, or similar)
3D CAD modelling.
Design for manufacture and assembly
Problem solving using 8D techniques and impact analysis
Design Failure Modes and Analysis
FEA using hand calculations and software
Generating design concepts and developing and supporting existing designs and products, in line with regulatory and customer requirements and in line with the engineering specification, including associated international civil and military aviation and defence standards as well as MBA requirements.
Production of commercially viable product definition information (PDI) including 3D models, detail, and assembly engineering drawings.
Effective workload planning
Supporting the Team Lead, Programmes / Integrated Project Team in defining all necessary engineering work required to gain final acceptance on new and existingproducts.
Carrying out all necessary performance and structural calculations via hand calculations and other software tools such as spreadsheets and FEAetc. to support design development.
Producing top level design layouts
Calling and chairing design reviews as required.
