Role Overview:

As an Energy Quantitative Trader, you will be responsible for developing and executing trading strategies for the intraday and day-ahead power and natural gas markets. You will harness your quantitative skills to analyze market data, identify patterns, and optimize trading decisions in real-time. This role offers the perfect blend of analytical rigor, strategic thinking, and fast-paced action, providing you with the opportunity to shape the future of energy trading.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilize quantitative models and algorithms to analyze market data and identify trading opportunities.
  • Develop and implement innovative trading strategies to capture alpha in the intraday and day-ahead power and natural gas markets.
  • Collaborate with Developers to automate, update and implement trading strategies.
  • Monitor market conditions and execute trades in real-time to optimize profitability and manage risk exposure.
  • Monitor the strategy and algorithm.
  • Stay informed about market trends, regulatory developments, and emerging technologies to adapt trading strategies accordingly.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in quantitative finance, mathematics, engineering, computer science, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • Previous experience in trading or quantitative analysis within energy trading.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or MATLAB, with experience in developing trading algorithms and conducting statistical analysis.
  • Strong understanding of energy market fundamentals, including electricity, natural gas, and renewable energy markets.
  • Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and derive actionable insights.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate across different departments and disciplines.
