Role Details

The day to day duties of a Butcher include cutting, slicing mincing and dicing meat products, packing meat and maintaining high standards within the Butchery.

Some responsibilities of the role include:

  • To prepare all meat in accordance with customer specifications and company guidelines.

  • To ensure that all fridges, preparation rooms and freezers are kept as clean and tidy as possible.

  • Maintain a comprehensive knowledge of all the companies products.

  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with fellow employees, managers, suppliers and any visitors.

  • Operate Bandsaw, packing machine, metal detector and labelling machine in a safe and professional manner, as per the manufacturers instructions.

  • Adhere to procedures relating to the proper use and care of equipment and materials for which the role has responsibility and report any machine maintenance problems immediately to the supervisor.

  • Understand the important of best before dates and be aware of any products falling below the required standard, and reject these products as necessary.

  • Adhere to companies health and safety, food safety and personal hygiene policies.
