Band 5 Theatre Scrub Practitioner - Obstetrics and Gynaecology Theatres

This is an exciting opportunity for a Band 5 Theatre Practitioner to join our motivated and dynamic team at the Royal Berkshire Hospital, Reading.


Our hospital is part of the NHS Foundation Trust, rated Good by CQC and also considered one of the best hospitals to work in the UK, graded 6th in the country.


Our Obstetrics and Gynaecology Theatre unit consists of two obstetric and two gynaecology theatres, part of busy twenty operating theatres department. We deliver excellent patient experience and quality of care with patient safety at the forefront of our practice.


Although the position is based in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, you will have the opportunity to work across other specialities such as urology and plastics.

Applications welcome from either NMC registered nurses or HCPC registered Operating Department Practitioners (ODP).
To circulate and scrub in all Obstetric and Gynae cases. Whether you have specific specialty experience or not, full support and training will be provided.


You will needto demonstrate the ability to translate the trust's vision of high quality care and excellent patient experience into action.

To contribute to the effective day-to-day operation of the Trust's theatres by providing skilled assistance to medical staff during the administration,maintenance and termination of general regional or local anaesthetics, by undertaking scrubbing and circulating duties and by providing skilledcare in recovery.
