The Role

As Chief Architect you will engage with senior executives and lead architects to understand business and architectural requirements. In this role you will articulate and present architecture visions, roadmaps and strategies. This is a client facing role that requires excellent communication skills and collaborative working towards the program goals. In this role you will be responsible for budgets, targets, and equipment. You will have managerial responsibility for Junior and Senior Architects.

Key responsibilities:

• Design Azure environments, infrastructure, and services that enable migration of IT infrastructure, services, applications, and systems from another Cloud environment to Azure.
• Coordinate with various groups within customer and TCS organizations for information gathering and strategy/solution development.
• Create and implement a migration plan for each infrastructure service, system, and/or application that will be transitioned to Azure.
• Create architecture and data flow diagrams for Azure cloud environments.
• Design and deploy infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools like Terraform, Azure Resource Manager (ARM) templates, and PowerShell.
• Ensure systems, applications, and data are high availability, backed up, and/or replicated to meet organizational requirements for disaster and business recovery.
• Analyse and ensure that proper monitoring and alerting systems are in place for systems, services, and applications.
• Evaluate and recommend Azure services based on business requirements and industry best practices.
• Collaborate with software developers, system administrators, and other stakeholders to integrate Azure solutions into existing systems and applications.
• Ensure compliance of architectural and engineering policies, standards, and procedures.
• Stays current with emerging cloud technologies and trends and advises on the adoption of new Azure features and services.
• Work closely with development teams to support DevOps practices and implement continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
• Leads technical discussions and presentations for internal teams and stakeholders.
• Recommend strategies to streamline systems for effectiveness and efficiency, considering client needs, team dynamics, and division and corporate missions.
• Serves as a quality control and assurance officer for guidance and outputs to ensure consistently high standards.
• Approaches problem solving collectively with senior staff and internal and external clients to achieve a mutually beneficial result.
• Participates in the development of the department’s strategic plans, training materials and tools.

Mentor and guide senior Infra & Solution Architects within the account.

Your Profile

Key skills/knowledge/experience:

• Extensive experience in enterprise cloud architecture in medium to large companies.
• Strong understanding of cloud computing technologies, business drivers, and emerging computing trends.
• Proficient in Azure services, including but not limited to Azure Active Directory, Azure Virtual Machines, Azure App Services, Azure Kubernetes Service, Azure Purview, Azure Private Link/Private Endpoint, and Azure SQL Database.
• Experience with cloud security, networking, and disaster recovery best practices.
• Strong knowledge of infrastructure as code (IaC) tools such as Azure Resource Manager (ARM) templates or Terraform
• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing, and lead presentations, training courses, and effective meetings
• Experience with network security best practices and configurations.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and attention to detail.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to solve technical, managerial, or operational problems and evaluate options based on relevant information, resources, well-rounded experience, and knowledge
• Displays skills of leadership, versatility and integrity.
• Able to coordinate and anchor EA initiatives spanning across various technology domains.

Good to have:

• Professional certification in Azure, such as Azure Solutions Architect Expert or similar preferred
