We are looking for a talented and experienced Senior Manager to join our team and play a leading role in the delivery of our Accounting & Finance services.
The RoleThe Senior Manager will manage the day-to-day operations of our accounting practice, ensuring client satisfaction, and driving the growth of the firm.
The successful candidate will have extensive experience in accounting for SMEs, excellent managerial skills, a strong understanding of business operations, and be digitally fluent.
This role offers a unique opportunity for the right individual to participate in our Share Option Plan and become a key stakeholder in the growth and success of our firm.
Key Responsibilities- Manage a diverse portfolio of clients, ensuring high-quality service delivery and customer satisfaction
- Oversee the preparation of financial statements and tax returns, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and best practices
- Oversee the preparation of management accounts and provide financial consultancy to clients
- Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures, harnessing technology solutions where relevant
- Supervise, mentor, and develop junior accounting staff, fostering a positive and collaborative team environment
- Collaborate with company leadership to develop and execute growth strategies, including identifying new business opportunities and enhancing existing service offerings
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the practice, including resource allocation, workflow management, and performance evaluation
- Represent the firm at industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities
- Producing management accounts for a £2M revenue client
- Managing a rolling cashflow forecast for a £4M revenue client
- Preparing End of Year accounts
- Improving internal processes and quality controls
- Improving customer experience
- Talking to clients
- Teaching a junior accountant or bookkeeper
We’ve set out below the types of qualifications, experience and personal qualities we think a successful candidate will have. - Professional accounting qualification ACCA, ACA, or AAT Level 4 qualification strongly preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of experience working for an accountancy practice
- Strong technical accounting knowledge, including preparing accounts to FRS 102 1A
- Extensive experience in managing UK tax compliance and reporting requirements including Corporation Tax, VAT and Employment tax (including EMI Share Schemes).
- Experience with simple Self Assessment tax returns
- M&A and fundraising experience including issuing shares, preparing due diligence documentation, and tax planning.
- Demonstrated leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and mentor junior staff
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to client service
- Expertise in accounting software and technology, including Xero, Dext, and reporting tools such as Fathom, Spotlight, or Syft.
- Experience in creating integrations between different software using low code or no code tools.
- Flexibility and adaptability, with a willingness to embrace change and contribute to the growth of the firm
