SHE Officer

Brightwork are supporting with the recruitment of a SHE Officer to join one of our prestigious manufacturing clients at their site on a Full Time, Permanent Basis.

Reporting in to the she SHE Specialist, the SHE officer's duties include:

• Champion SHE excellence and Occupational Health (OH) for the site

•Provide practical advice on Safety and Occupational Health issues

•Manage, develop and implement Occupational Safety and Health systems to ensure compliance with Corporate and UK legislation

• Lead completion and review of Occupational Health and Safety risk assessments

•Ensure site wide implementation of chemicals legislation REACH, CLP and GHS requirements

•Provides support for the management of asbestos and legionella on site

•Provide technical advice and leadership to implement Safety and OH system improvements

•Conduct audits and inspections on Occupational Health and Safety standards

•Maintains a close working relationship with production and gains area specific SHE knowledge

•Preparation, delivery and co-ordination of Safety and Occupational Health training such as RPE and work at height

• Support SHE reporting and maintenance of relevant systems, accreditations and standards

•Prepare and revise SHE policies and procedures

•Maintain good relationships with external regulators

The ideal candidate:

• Successful candidate will have a degree in relevant subject with relevant industrial experience

•Experience of managing SHE within manufacturing/multi-project environment is desirable.

•Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages, especially Excel, is essential.

•Candidates should have proven track record of competence in their respective discipline with excellent interpersonal skills.

•Other essential behaviours are self motivation, team player, good communication and auditing skills.
