Residential Youth Worker - Sleep-In (No Weekends or School Holidays)
• Location: Great Yarmouth
• Salary: £13.56 - £15.67 per hour
• Job Type: Full-time
We are looking for a compassionate and dedicated Residential Youth Worker to join our team, providing overnight support to young people in a residential setting. This role offers the unique benefit of having weekends and school holidays off, allowing for a healthy work-life balance.
Day to day of the role:
• Provide care and support to youth in a residential environment.
• Create a safe and nurturing space that supports the physical, emotional, and social well-being of residents.
• Assist with the implementation of individualized care plans, focusing on goal setting and skill development.
• Encourage participation in educational, recreational, and life skills programs.
• Build positive relationships with youth and their families, involving them in the care process.
• Administer medication as needed and maintain accurate records.
• Work with a multidisciplinary team to evaluate and meet the needs of each resident.
• Respond to crisis situations and maintain the safety and security of residents.
• Serve as a positive role model and mentor, fostering independence and empowering youth.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
• Experience working with youth in a residential or similar setting is highly desirable.
• Understanding of the developmental needs and challenges faced by young people.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Teamwork abilities and the capacity to work independently as needed.
• Flexibility to work sleep-in and occasional night shifts.
• Empathy, patience, and a non-judgmental approach.
• Knowledge of youth care legislation and best practices.
