Job Title : Bar & Facilities General Manager (Didcot Town Football Club) Grade : Manager Reports to : Management Committee/Trustees Hours: Full Time Includes varied Nights,days & Weekend shifts.

Job Purpose Summary

To manage the day to day operations of running a sports and social club venue ensuring the smooth operation and oversight of both the general bar and wider venue hire for private/corporate functions and community based activity. The role will require flexibility to meet the diverse needs of this role along with strong business acumen to drive revenue growth and profit.

Main Accountabilities / Outputs 1. Health & Safety – Responsible for the H&S of both staff, committee and members of the public using the venue, this will include ensuring Club H&S policy is adhered to and regular reviews of risks are actively managed.

2. Financial – Financial accounting and direct cash management responsibility including:

· Wet Sales cash balance daily/weekly/monthly.

· Direct stock management and rotation minimising stock loses.

· Accountability to maintain active GP targets for all wet sales/food/hire.

· Accountable for year-on-year revenue growth.

3. People Management – Direct Management of small team including casual labour required to meet variable demands in service offering.

· Responsible for weekly/monthly rota including management of annual leave.

· Responsible for performance management of direct employees.

· Responsible for Health Safety and Wellbeing of employees

4. Venue Hire - Directly accountable for management of all venue hire including:

· Function Room hire for both Day/Night/Weekend use and coordinate all requirements for our customers.

· Coordinate pitch and wider venue hire and facilitate opening of club as required to support.

· Work closely with General and Match Secretary on ensuring fixtures calendar and social calendar alignment.

5. Revenue Growth – Responsible for driving sales of facilities offerings:

· Ensuring maximum utilisation of all service offerings, actively pursuing all avenues to ensure increased footfall and venue usage.

· Responsible for promotion and advertising of services.

· Responsible for management of club driven functions both in the main function venue and sports bar to actively drive footfall and revenue to meet targets.

· Work to promote local community events including integration and needs of our Youth Football Section.

· Ensure quality output of all service offerings, including catering, venue quality, and overall high levels of customer satisfaction are maintained.

6. General business – Additional activity includes:

· Direct supplier management (constantly driving best in market values) and ordering.

· Management of cleaning and maintenance services across the venue.

· Venue security.

· Stock management

· Policy compliance and updates

· Weekly reporting into Treasurer on financials.

· Monthly reporting to Trustees/Exec Committee on performance, risks, issues along with 90 day rolling look ahead.

· Maintaining 5 star hygiene for all food areas.

· Fire and H&S safety weekly checks.

· Lead on our community engagement.

Skills, qualifications, experience – minimum required

Courteous and highly organised professional with excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Minimum of 2 years Bar Management Experience

Excellent numeracy skills

Can do self-starter with the ability to learn and apply knowledge of the business area to drive growth and customer satisfaction.

Fully competent at using Office software including, Powerpoint, Word, Excel.

Ability to be flexible to meet the diverse needs of the venue and its activity. 

Budget controlled : Basic P& L for management of Wet Sales/Venue Hire & Food Sales. No. of employees managed : 1-5

Salary Package : Base Salary £27,800 – OTE £40,000+ linked to bonus directly related to GP and Growth Targets, Annual Leave 28 days (inc Bank Holidays),

Hours of Work – Varied, includes need for weekends, evenings, bank holidays, role provides core base hours along with Banked Hours. (Average 40hr week)
