Job Description SLR has a fantastic opportunity for an experienced engineering Senior BIM Technician to join our Engineering & Design Service Line in Edinburgh.

You will be a key member of our BIM team, reporting to our BIM / CAD Manager, working collaboratively with engineering disciplines and the wider company to ensure that our technical drawing and 3D modelling requirements are met. This will involve helping to develop designs for power, infrastructure and built environment projects using Autodesk Civil 3D and Infraworks.

you'll have a fantastic opportunity to support our Engineering team to develop designs for power, infrastructure and built environment projects.

The successful Senior BIM Technician will be experienced in using AutoCAD, Civil 3D and Vehicle Tracking. Experience in Infraworks is desired, but training can be provided.

Preparing Civil 3D earthworks & corridor models from engineer’s sketches
Detailing earthwork quantities from civil 3D models
Mentoring junior members of BIM team and checking their work
Supporting BIM / CAD Manager in maintaining CAD standards, best practice and processes for modelling, content creation and advanced digital developments
Managing procurement of site data, such as stats searches and topographical survey

Civil 3D background with experience in earthworks modelling & corridor modelling
Experience working in a Common Data Environment such as ProjectWise, BIM Collaborate, 4Projects, Aconex or similar
