Apply now Responsibilities of a Secondary SEN English Teacher: Plan and deliver creative and engaging English lessons for students with diverse learning needs. Foster a positive and supportive classroom environment that promotes participation, collaboration, and respect. Regularly assess student progress in English and use data to guide your teaching decisions. Differentiate instruction to cater to the individual needs of each student, providing additional support or challenge as required. Collaborate effectively with colleagues, parents, and other stakeholders to ensure student success and well-being. Qualifications and Requirements of a Secondary SEN English Teacher: Bachelor's degree in Education or relevant field (PGCE or equivalent teaching qualification preferred). Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) , NQT or equivalent certification. Degree in English / other relevant degree preferred Proven experience teaching in a secondary school setting, preferably with experience across multiple year groups (ECT's encouraged to apply). Strong knowledge of the primary curriculum, instructional strategies, and assessment practices. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills. A passion for working with children and a commitment to promoting their academic, social, and emotional development. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and contribute positively to the school community. Valid driving license and access to a vehicle.
