Head of Sales

Working for a well known exhibition and event contractor in the Midlands, this Head of Exhibitor Sales role will focus on maximising sales through successful management and motivation of a sales team responsible for selling products and services and managing the profitable delivery of its sales targets.

Responsibilities will include:

Managing Sales/financial delivery

  • Selling of products and services as agreed by the business to achieve sales targets. Including proactive campaign management and maximising sales opportunities through cross and up selling additional products and services.
  • Drive and monitor sales performance.
  • Contribute to financial planning and delivery of forecasts and budget numbers through achieving sales results and controlling costs
  • Developing the Team’s understanding of the products and services that can be sold.
  • Working with all department heads to embed an ecommerce function

Business development

  • Working closely with key contacts internally and externally to build show/event specific campaigns and targets, and lead the team to deliver them
  • Identifying and developing opportunities to increase revenue and grow the portfolio of customers
  • Analysing data and producing reports to inform the business as required

Account management and administration

  • Managing relationships with customer groups, ensuring all records are appropriately maintained
  • Developing the efficiency and effectiveness of the department through continual improvement

Client liaison and satisfaction

  • Working collaboratively with internal teams and suppliers to achieve an excellent, seamless end to end customer experience
  • Developing relationships with all customers and delivering excellent customer service
  • Introducing client specific training and support programmes, positioning the company as a trusted partner for all event delivery

You will need to have/be:

  • Experience of working in a fast pace, high pressure, target drive events environment.
  • A passion for selling and customer service.
  • Experience of leading a team
  • Sound commercial understanding
  • Proven ability to influence and negotiate
  • Understanding of ecommerce and how to maximise ifs efficiency/commerciality
  • Communicates effectively at all levels internally and externally, builds rapport, flexing style
  • An eye for detail whilst maintaining focus on driving and delivering results
  • A team player with the ability to share knowledge and information and work collaboratively at all levels across the organisation
