We are seeking a dedicated Occupational Therapist to join a team in Edinburgh providing comprehensive occupational therapy services to children and young people with disabilities, This role involves assessment and care management, ensuring the delivery of services aligns with current legislation, council procedures, and standards. The successful candidate will work within a multi-disciplinary team to support the accessibility needs of learners in educational settings and contribute to child and adult protection efforts.

Direct Occupational Therapy Practice (70%)
Promote good manual handling practices, including risk assessments and updating care plans.
Develop and review care plans in consultation with service users and carers.
Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to support community-based rehabilitation.
Represent the council in interactions with service users, carers, and other professionals.
Training and Development (15%)
Stay updated on relevant legislation, policies, and procedures.
Complete mandatory training and participate in personal and professional development.
Undertake manual handling risk assessment training and maintain accreditation.
Child or Adult Protection (15%)
Identify and raise any child or adult protection concerns with the line manager.
Use occupational therapy resources creatively to develop personalized care packages.
Balance the interests of service users, carers, other agencies, and the community.

Degree in Occupational Therapy.
Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
Experience working with children and young people with disabilities.
Strong knowledge of relevant legislation and council policies.
