Our client, a respected Tier 2 regional contractor, is seeking a skilled Quantity Surveyor to join their team based in Rugby. The contractor is renowned for delivering high-quality projects across various sectors, including educational, healthcare, commercial, residential, and leisure.
Job Overview:
As a Quantity Surveyor, you will play a pivotal role in the financial management of projects with values up to £20 million. You will be responsible for ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive and detail-oriented professional to further their career with a dynamic and forward-thinking contractor.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare cost estimates, budgets, and financial reports for various projects.
- Manage the procurement process, including the preparation of tender documents and contract negotiations.
- Monitor project progress and control costs throughout the project lifecycle.
- Assess and value variations and changes to contracts.
- Liaise with clients, contractors, and suppliers to ensure smooth project delivery.
- Prepare and submit interim valuations and final accounts.
- Conduct risk management and cost control activities.
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and industry standards.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor, ideally within a Tier 2 regional contractor environment.
- Strong understanding of construction processes and principles.
- Excellent numeracy and financial management skills.
- Proficiency in cost estimation and budget management.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- NEC contract experience is desirable but not essential.
- Relevant degree or professional qualification in Quantity Surveying or a related field.
