land drainage works. The Quantity Surveyor will ensure robust, accurate and innovative advice is delivered to clients to align with their needs and business objectives. Responsibilities: Manage and organise operations within the business, ensuring they are in accordance with applicable legislation and in the best interests of the company. Gain a clear understanding of the Client's requirements to ensure that the project is structured correctly, to the correct timescales such that accurate project costs are generated and thereafter an appropriate quotation can be presented to the Client. Plan and manage work schedules and procuring the necessary materials. Prioritise work efficiently and use delegation skills to meet deadlines. Ensure all paperwork and records of operations are completed with as much relevant detail as possible to enable the correct information to be collated such that timely invoicing and reporting are conducted as expected. To be able to confidently read and interpret site plans, drawings and identify any variances. Be proficient in the use of CAD, site setting out /surveying skills - GPS or total station Good knowledge of CDM regulations Ensure effective communication and interpersonal skills are used to establish good working relationships. Comply with all Health, Safety and Environmental policies and procedures, monitoring improvements that could be made to maintain a safe working environment. Respond positively to instructions and suggestions. Be able to carry out your work without close supervision, meet targets and take ownership and responsibility for own work. Physically be able to carry out all manual handling tasks as required. To bring in new initiatives and efficiencies to enable cost savings and increase profit margins. Optimise business opportunities from networking events and to follow through all substantial leads. Identify training requirements that will be beneficial to staff that will meet the business needs. Demonstrate and build upon appropriate knowledge and skills; maintain qualifications in order to comply with regulations surrounding the equipment and operations within the business. You will contribute positively to your team and other business sectors within the Company and establish good working relationships with your colleagues. About you: Essential Requirements: Good working knowledge of forms of contract currently used within the Building and Civil Engineering industry Strong attention to detail Substantial experience within the Civils/Construction/Land Drainage sector Have drive and passion to do the job well Have a proactive, problem-solving mind-set Confident and engaging management approach Strong IT skills Excellent communication skills A great team player who is able to work well with all levels within the organisation QS Qualified Desirable Requirements: It would be an advantage for you to be able to operate plant safely and efficiently.
