A Technical R&D Project Manager/Engineer is responsible for timeline and milestone adherence for one or more technology evaluation projects, new product development projects, or improvements to existing hardware, software and / or single-use devices designed for the biotech industry. A Technical R&D Project Manager/Engineer will be responsible for project(s) from early phase of technical scouting, prototype evaluation, design specification, as well as testing and validation with the Product Manager and other R&D Engineers.
This position is part of the Automation, Digital and Learning SME team located in Harbourgate, Portsmouth and will be a hybrid role. Must have a background in a discipline linking biology with physics, optics and/or electronics.
Technical understanding of biopharmaceutical drug and gene therapy production needs in terms of product quality sensing via methods such as optics, chemical, physical sampling, and immersion.
Knowledge of good manufacturing practice and regulatory body requirements for the biopharmaceutical industry.
Expected to work independently with considerable latitude to establish priorities and activities needed for the project team to successfully meet objectives.
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or relevant science field; Master’s Degree or PhD preferred
