Our Bachelor of Teaching students need a passionate lecturer | kaiako to assist them to become confident and professional early childhood teachers.

Put into practice your enthusiasm for teaching adults while using your skills and experience to inspire student teachers to uphold their responsibilities arising from Te Tiriti o Waitangi through their teaching and learning. Our varied programme reflects our commitment to a Pacific and bicultural kaupapa and the best of local and international research and practise, and our Academic staff teach across the programme at Undergraduate, Graduate or Post-Graduate level.

As a lecturer you will be working towards, or have, a masters or PhD in a discipline that is related to the ECE sector and have recent EC sector curriculum experience.

You will have:

  • Experience or strong interest in teaching and mentoring adults at a tertiary level, particularly student teachers
  • Full teacher certification and practising certificate essential
  • Recent ECE experience
  • Experience teaching in a blended and online learning environment is desirable
  • Knowledge in te reo Māori me ngā tikanga Māori is desirable, but support is given to develop in this area
  • A commitment to growing bicultural practice and commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi
  • A master's degree in education or relevant discipline, or engagement in post-graduate education study
  • A current full drivers’ licence and vehicle for work use.
