Overall role purpose

The purpose of the Senior Associate within Finance is to be responsible for the financial health of GTIL to fulfil its Safeguarding role for the network.

Ensure the Global Leadership team is provided with support and financial analysis to support business planning and decision making.

Provide the financial information that other functions across GTIL require to operate effectively and efficiently to ensure those functions are supported in their ability to have a laser focus on helping firms to grow their international business and on safeguarding the network.

Ensure financial records are accurate and up to date to enable correct decision making.

Responsibilities include assisting day to day accounting including but not limited to, cash management, supplier account management, queries assisting, month end reporting, annual audit, internal reporting, and monthly reconciliations.

Location

UK and Europe time zones.

Main responsibilities

Day to day accounting

  • Managing all aspects of external supplier accounts including postings and allocations. To post all supplier invoices to the ledger on our Access Dimensions software, ensuring they are matched to the correct purchase orders where applicable and coded to the correct nominal ledger code and supplier account.
  • Responding to all supplier account queries from internal and external stakeholders. Timely identification and resolution of queries involving liaison by phone or written communication with internal staff and external suppliers.
  • Managing Proforma invoices, payments and maintaining the tracker.
  • Posting staff expenses in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Assisting the Finance manager with any ad-hoc reporting.

Weekly accounting

  • Reviewing, preparing, and managing supplier payments. Produce the weekly payment run ensuring all payments are made on the due dates and for the correct amounts. Update and allocate all the payments to the ledger in a timely manner.
  • Managing cash flow, and foreign exchange bank balances based on payment requests.
  • Ensuring timely and accurate processing of all external supplier invoices.

Monthly accounting

  • Preparing and managing accruals, communicating with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring journals are accurate, done in a timely manner and up to date.
  • Reconciling supplier statements and cleaning up supplier accounts.

Other

  • Support on annual audit tasks – yearend supplier statements, reconciliations, and reporting.
  • Review current processes and suggest improvements to increase efficiencies and improve working practices.

Experience – Essential

  • Experience of working in a financial, business to business or professional services environment
  • Self-starter with the ability and confidence to develop and implement their own projects and workload
  • Strong communication skills and ability to interact, challenge and support senior stakeholders
  • Very good interpersonal skills and a good team player
  • Good organisation and time management skills and an ability to manage multiple projects
  • Advanced level Microsoft Excel
  • Ability to work and communicate effectively in a cross-geographic, cross-organizational and cross-cultural context

Experience - Desirable

  • Previous experience of working within a global professional services environment and with international stakeholders
