We are seeking experienced Technical Safety Engineer to join our multidiscipline Engineering team on a contract basis. The role will report into to our Lead Process Engineer and will work on a specific FEED Project with the option to extend into detailed design. Our ideal individuals will have previous experience of working at Senior Engineer level on projects within the chemical and or pharmaceutical industries. Previous experience of FEED is essential. The Technical Safety Engineer will provide specialist process safety and loss prevention expertise during the Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) phase of the project ensuring that inherent safety, regulatory compliance, and corporate standards are embedded in the design to minimize risk to people, assets, and the environment. We operate a hybrid working week with three days per week spent in our project office based in Hessle, East Yorkshire. Responsibilities: Develop and implement the technical safety strategy, design philosophies, and key deliverables for the FEED phase. Support the development of project HSE deliverables and ensure alignment with client and regulatory standards. Participate in design reviews (HAZID, HAZOP, LOPA, SIL, QRA, etc.) and follow up on closeout actions. Support development of the Safety Design Basis and Fire & Explosion Strategy. Review PFDs, P&IDs, and layouts to identify and mitigate safety issues early in design.
