The position

To act as Client Director on Private Client cases, providing fiduciary services in accordance with the relevant Client Services Agreements and the various laws and regulations pertaining to the Group’s Guernsey regulatory licences.

The key responsibilities for the role are noted below and as Director, Private Clients you will also be expected to undertake any such duties that are deemed a reasonable requirement, for example, leading and managing any relevant projects that are related to the role. You will be expected to act as an Ambassador for CSC Guernsey and Group representing the firm to raise awareness in the business community.

Your responsibilities

  • Ensure CSC business goals and local strategy are aligned, understood, and communicated effectively internally and externally. Leading the Guernsey private clients business;
  • Contribute to the strategic success of the business by ensuring that financial targets are met;
  • Identify and develop growth opportunities through new business and the extension of the existing client base to include opportunities to refer business throughout the Group;
  • Provide a high level of technical expertise/knowledge on complex cases;
  • Ensure all clients receive a consistent, professional, and personal quality service;
  • Take the lead on all contentious client relationships and matters, resolving fee disputes and client concerns;
  • Proactively keep an up-to-date awareness of current industry issues and mitigate the potential negative impact on clients/Guernsey business;
  • As directors of client entities and Guernsey corporate trustee/director entities, to make informed and independent decisions on client transactions backed by supporting information and relevant legal and/or tax advice;
  • Periodically consider higher-than-normal risk factors impacting the entities in your client allocation. Where appropriate conduct a business assessment in conjunction with the compliance department;
  • Provide leadership, technical guidance, and management support to the Associate Directors, Managers, Assistant Managers and Administrators responsible for the day to-to-day administration of client entities;
  • Contribute to the continuous development of the Guernsey private clients team by identifying staff training needs and the active participation in recruitment and succession planning; and
  • Foster good relations between management and staff by demonstrating integrity through effective and open communication with the Guernsey team.

Your profile

  • Evidence of relevant experience in regulated finance or professional services, with the most recent position held in a senior team leading role;
  • Must be able to demonstrate sound leadership skills and management experience;
  • Solid understanding of the business and markets applicable to the business;
  • Ability to build a successful network of internal and external contacts;
  • Be a technical expert on client structures, including any regulatory requirements;
  • Professional qualification such as ACCA, CGI, STEP or equivalent;
  • Solid IT technical skills; and
  • Drives personal development using all the resources available to achieve success.
