Senior Consultant, Security Researcher - Cyber
6point6 cyber practice is a fast-growing community of industry leading experts. The practice covers Assurance, Compliance, Security Operations, Offensive Security and Security Research. We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Security Researcher to join our dynamic cybersecurity team. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of cybersecurity threats, vulnerabilities, and attack vectors, along with hands-on experience in conducting in-depth security research. As a Security Researcher, you will play a crucial role in identifying, analysing, and mitigating security risks to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of our client's information assets.
Due to the nature of the client engagements, every employee needs to be able to achieve Security Clearance. This means that you need to have the right to take up employment within the UK, do not have or require any visa to work, and have beenresident in the UK for at least 5 years without any gap(s) totalling more than 6 months.

You should be able to easily commute to our London office. For some roles/projects, travel to the clients offices will be required and the frequency is often determined by the client.

o Stay proactive in researching emerging technologies and trends in cybersecurity
o Contribute to the development of innovative security solutions to enhance client organisation's security posture
· Security Assessments:
o Perform penetration testing and vulnerability assessments on applications, systems, and networks
Vulnerability Research:
o Conduct in-depth analysis of software, hardware, and network vulnerabilities
Security Tool Development:
o Develop and maintain security tools to aid in the identification and mitigation of security risks
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Information Security, or a related field.·
Proven experience in security research, vulnerability analysis, and threat intelligence
· Proficiency in scripting and programming languages such as Python, Ruby, or Bash
· Hands-on experience with penetration testing tools and frameworks
· Knowledge of network protocols, systems, and applications security
· Familiarity with security standards and frameworks (ISO 27001, NIST, OWASP)
· Continuous learner with a passion for staying ahead in the rapidly evolving field of cybersecurity
