Markel manages the business, Markel Law LLP who provide legal and human resources consultancy services as well as our professional legal advice line service to our clients. We have a great opportunity for an Employment Law Advisor / Solicitor to join our team in Croydon on an initial 12-month FTC contract. Working 1 day per week in the office / 4 days from home.

Markel Law LLP is an independent SRA authorised and regulated legal business offering services to both insured and non-insured clients. Our clients and business partners comprise businesses, high net worth individuals, and associations across a broad spectrum of industries. Our legal teams guide, support, defend and protect clients through a wide range of key legal services.

Delivery of high-quality legal advice on a variety of employment related matters through both telephone and email communication
Maintaining a sound working knowledge of all aspects of commercial/non-employment law and standard practice
Ensuring relevant shifts are covered, including day and out of hours rotas as applicable
Liaising with Markel Law's Litigation Unit and Manchester office as appropriateOur must haves:

Full knowledge and understanding of Employment Law, including redundancy, TUPE, disciplinaries, flexible working, etc
Good IT skills across Microsoft, Word, Outlook
Excellent data entry skills and attention to detail/accuracy
Be commercially aware at all times and to offer both practical as well as legal solutions
Be flexible and adaptable both within the commercial unit and assisting the various employment teams as the needs of the business instruct
