Field Service Engineer
Area: Birmingham
Salary range: £25k-28k:depending on experience and skill set
The main focus of the role is being responsible for the service and maintenance of vending machines in the Birmingham area. You should be capable of delivering a professional response - within our timescale and KPI standards (first time fix, repeat calls) to service calls logged into our head office by customers experiencing problems.
Responsibilities:
• Perform routine service, preventive maintenance, and repairs on vending machines located in the West Midlands and surrounding area.
• Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to vending machine malfunctions, such as coin mechanism problems, refrigeration system faults, electrical faults, and general mechanical issues.
• Maintain accurate records of service and maintenance activities, including machine performance, repairs conducted, parts replaced, and any other relevant information using the company's bespoke systems and tools.
• Communicate with internal service desk and complete all calls via our bespoke systems.
• Responsible for the efficient storage and timely re-ordering of standard spares stock. Complete all necessary paperwork (parts requisition book).
• Make recommendations/suggestions where parts used frequently are not on standard spares lists.
• To highlight own training needs and attend any training courses arranged by the company.
• To adopt a flexible approach to tasks in line with changing company needs and priorities for the service department.
• Adhere to company policies, procedures, and safety guidelines while working on vending machines, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and promoting a safe working environment.
Requirements:
• Have a minimum of 2 years vending experience or similar; technical, mechanical, and electrical.
• Live within the Birmingham or surrounding area.
• Display a flexible attitude and strong work ethic.
• Be confident and professional in front of customers.
• Be able to regularly work on your own as well as being a strong team player.
• To be physically capable for the requirements of the job - some occasional heavy lifting (up to 25kg).
• A full driving licence and be confident driving long distances.
• To be reasonably confident with technology - IT skills.
