Role Description
This role requires comprehensive experience in data modelling, including conceptual, logical, and physical data models. The successful candidate will have a significant impact, working with industry-leading technology and engaging with business users to gather and model their information requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with business users to determine their information needs.
- Analyze the business process to identify and conceive interacting entities.
- Develop entity relationship diagrams showing the links between entities.
- Define attributes and properties of each entity, ensuring entities are distinguishable.
- Create and validate a logical data model that fulfills business application requirements.
- Translate the logical model into a physical model and work with database administrators to implement and maintain it.
- Collaborate with BI and Analytics teams to create reusable semantic models, including metadata and lineage information.
- Optimize the model for consistent performance.
- Maintain accurate metadata to describe the data model, its structure, and semantics.
- Recommend and enforce design and maintenance standards, guidelines, and procedures.
Key Skills/Knowledge/Experience:
Proficiency in industry-standard data modelling methodologies.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Excellent facilitation, consultative, and consensus-building capabilities.
- Proven expertise in developing relational databases within a corporate environment.
- Demonstrated experience creating models for Business Intelligence solutions.
- Advanced analytical, data profiling, and problem-solving abilities.
- Thorough knowledge of modelling methodologies and processes.
- Expertise in facilitation and conflict resolution techniques.
- Familiarity with Business Intelligence products.
Person Specification:
- Customer-facing with strong stakeholder management skills.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and team collaboration abilities.
