Test Automation Engineer Position Description

Your future duties and responsibilities

In this role you will:

  1. Contribute to the test design and execution of various test phases.
  2. Be part of the overall contribution of the test team; reporting and attending defect triage meetings, quality gate reviews and producing Test Completion Reports.
  3. Provide support to junior members of the team offering guidance where required.
  4. Ensure a suitable succession plan is in place when moving to any new role/project.
  5. In terms of progression we’d expect you to be looking to progress to a Lead Test role and we will support your career development towards this.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role

Key qualifications:

  1. Test automation tools (BDD tools sets) and experience in using them within a Java development/test environment
  2. Experience of testing RESTful APIs
  3. Testing experience within cloud environments (desirable)
  4. Integration testing
  5. Performance testing
  6. Usage of tools such as Git, JMeter, Postman, Newman, RestAssured, ReadyAPI, Postman etc
  7. Demonstrable experience, knowledge and understanding of Automation Testing within modern software/applications development (especially with respect to Agile Development methodology and Automation testing).
  8. ISTQB Software Testing Foundation
  9. ISTQB Advanced Certification in Technical Test Management
  10. ITIL Foundation
  11. Experience of automation or significant non-functional testing or infrastructure testing
