Technical Network - Operations Director
Technical Network is working in partnership with a market-leading global manufacturer who is seeking an Operations Director for one of their Midlands-based production facilities.
Role:Operations Director
Salary:Six-figure package
Location:Herefordshire (relocation assistance available)
Reporting to the Managing Director, you will be responsible for all production operations and output to achieve customer orders On Time In Full (OTIF), Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), and meeting high safety & quality metrics.
You will be a strong communicator and a key advocate for engagement with internal stakeholders, workforce, unions, and external stakeholders to promote operational efficiency, quality, health & safety, people development, cost efficiency, and delivery.
Key Responsibilities for the Operations Director:- Ensuring that all areas of the business are delivering on time and on budget
- Driving Health & Safety and working to develop a strong culture on site
- Leading the organization on its Lean Journey, playing a key role in continuous improvement in productivity and efficiency
- Providing overall direction in terms of cost-effective operations and planning
- Assuring the continuing quality of products
- Improving the performance of all direct reports through strong communication
Applications are sought from experienced senior leadership professionals with a tangible record of success in an Operational or Manufacturing Management capacity gained in a manufacturing environment.
Background in aerospace, automotive, performance materials, medical devices, or similar highly regulated quality metric manufacturing sector is essential.
Strong lean toolbox – strong understanding and ability to drive Continuous Improvement activity.
Demonstrating a history of achieving profit and business growth through effective planning, cost control, and full operational P&L leadership.
Strong communication skills are key; forging relationships with the workforce headcount at the business.
Qualification in Engineering or Technical discipline (Degree, HNC, HND), ideally with additional professional qualifications (ILM, MBA, IOSH, etc).
