With over 12 yrs of exceptional track record, our client are looking to further build their commercial front office team through the addition of an experienced quantitative analyst – to be based in London. This is an opportunity to join an exceptionally strong team in one of the industry’s leading specialist asset managers The successful candidate will join an established team managing and operating, developing and improving the company’s proprietary quantitative infrastructure and models For avoidance of doubt this this role will predominantly be focussed on supporting discretionary trading activities in European Gas & Power in a quant research capacity (as opposed to trading strategy). This is a fantastic opportunity for an up and coming quantitative analyst in an established trading entity (trading utility, private trading house, oil major) looking to move their career to the next level in a smaller environment and a more impactful role. Our client will also consider exceptional candidates from outside the energy space (eg: online gambling etc) where there is a strong crossover in model objectivity (dynamic market pricing etc) Candidates should have exceptional academics (1st Class Degree in a Mathematical, Computer Science or other related topic), expert programming level in Python and strong statistical programming skills, preferably in R Candidates should also be able to demonstrate a strong team ethic and have the interpersonal skills needed to work successfully in a smaller, less corporate environment This is NOT an entry level role so please do not apply if you do not have at least 5 years of relevant experience.
