We have an opportunity for a QA Supervisor to join a leading food manufacturer who supply to a range of retailers throughout the UK, based in Aintree, Liverpool. This is a full time, permanent role working Monday – Friday on a weekly rotating shift pattern 6am – 2pm / 2pm – 10pm on a salary of up to £25,000 per annum. Reporting into the QA Manager, You will manage a small team of QA Technicians. You will promote quality, food safety and health & safety, assisting in driving the site quality standards and culture, as well as deputising for the QA Manager. main responsibilities will include: Supervising the Quality Assurance Technicians/ Raw Material Inspector to ensure that quality checks, calibration of equipment, site audits, laboratory samples/swabs etc have been completed to schedule. Actively participating in third party audits. Building and maintaining relationships with internal and external customers and suppliers. Being fully conversant with all traceability system including mass balance. Ensuring non- conformances are communicated and corrective actions are implemented for due diligence. Actively participate as a member of the HACCP team. Shared ownership of paperwork and documentation relating to the QA Lab department Attend daily production and monthly technical department team meetings and make an active contribution. To ensure that all Health and Safety standards are maintained and that you always show due diligence. You should report any bad practices to the Health and Safety Adviser. To comply with all company policies and procedures e.g. health & safety, training & development, quality, disciplinary & grievance, and sickness & absence etc. To plan deep cleaning schedules including Chemical Cleans. To monitor Pest Control measures and to liaise with Pest Control contractors. Do health and safety related risk assessments for all Hygiene activities and chemicals handling on site. To plan and schedule machine cleaning post PPM completion by engineering. To maintain stock levels of cleaning chemicals, materials, and equipment. To collate Production waste materials data. Organise for Training of staff in QA and Hygiene departments and provide required documentation for the same for BRC. We are keen to hear from applicants with the below experience: Previous Quality experience, or a quality professional looking for progression A track record working in an FMCG setting, ideally in food manufacturing knowledge of HACCP, BRC and Quality Management systems within the food industry Experience in supporting site audits, ensuring non-conformances and dealing with suppliers Ability to communicate well, have strong people-management and customer service skills.
