Portfolio Programme Manager - £600 - £700 per day – 9 month contract possible extension – Reading or Glasgow Hybrid, 1 day PW in office
This newly created role will provide dedicated PMO leadership to a group of our business units (business Sectors) requiring a diverse set of skills and experience to integrate planning, project controls governance, risk and opportunity management across a portfolio of projects.
The role will directly support the business unit in the development and management of project portfolios and assurance of programmes of work in a safe and environmentally responsible manner to cost, time and quality in line with Legislation, Company Standards, procedures and corporate governance.
The Portfolio Manager will provide concise management information and insight to the Business Unit Executive and other key stakeholders on business unit and portfolio performance to enable informed, proactive and timely decision making. We are looking for a person who has proven Senior experience delivering large and complex infrastructure projects in utility organisations or their supply chain.
Proven experience in the successful management and assurance of major programmes of work in the construction or utility infrastructure industries.
Proven commercial focus and financially astute.
Detailed knowledge of the principles of investment processes and procedures.
Detailed knowledge of the principles of Health & Safety, quality and environment legislation and best practice.
Experience of successful management in a matrix structure.
Demonstrable experience of confidently building strong, diverse internal and external networks to unblock issues and achieve progress.
