Role Summary

Becoming a Senior Civil/Structural Engineer at Mitsubishi Chemical is an exciting opportunity to work on major projects globally. You will be the “go-to” individual on all capital projects, providing corporate input on Civil/structural matters. The successful candidate can expect to ensure project design, procurement, fabrication, and construction are aligned with legalisation, engineering and company standards meeting the overall objectives. Becoming a part of a team that all strive for the same goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as subject matter expert taking the lead in the company for all civil & structural issues.
  • Be there to offer professional support to make sure structural designs are technically robust and cost-effective. Thus, within the early project stages offer advice and guidance on effective and suitable design to enable the best construction.
  • Provide technical input and guidance into the corporate Asset Integrity Procedure (AIP) in developing and refining company standards.
  • Use technical Knowledge and understanding of engineering requirements to assist in the selection of subcontractors in addition to relevant technical build evaluations.
  • Review and comment upon the civil & structural design deliverables provided by the engineering contractors (EPC, Fabrication and constructions).
  • Attend project and design review meetings to ensure the design meets project requirements.

Qualifications/Experience

  • Significant experience working in the chemical, petrochemical, or oil and gas sectors.
  • Previous experience in major projects including front end, detailed design, and construction phases.
  • Chartered Engineer or registered Professional Engineer.
  • A strong, technical engineering knowledge with experience in Process Unit Modularisation & Prefabricated Buildings.
