Head of Finance - Transformation
Do you have experience with designing and implementing finance transformation initiatives and ERP cloud migration or implementation? We're seeking an enthusiastic Head of Finance to join our team and lead the delivery of a range of initiatives to improve our financial framework. If you are ready to deploy your expertise in finance and lead our financial transformation then join us as Head of Finance where you will be able to make a positive, lasting impact to NFER, a leading independent charity with a global reputation. Salary: £70,000 to £79,000 per annum DOELeave: A total of 42 days of paid leave comprising of 30 days of annual leave, four discretionary days and eight bank holidays. We also offer enhanced maternity/parental leave, and paid compassionate leave.
Pension: employer contributions of 10% of your salary.
Location: Hybrid (Slough office). 1-2 days per week in office.
Hours: Full-time (35 hours).
Job Type: 12-month Fixed Term Contract. JOB DESCRIPTION
As Head of Finance, you’ll play a crucial role in designing and delivering a finance transformation strategy while providing leadership and management to the finance team. Working under the direction of the Chief Financial Officer, you’ll critically assess operating models and processes such as annual budgets, third party due-diligence and project accountancy setup. You’ll also be responsible for providing advice and guidance to senior managers using insights from financial data. Key Responsibilities:
- Work with key senior stakeholders across the Foundation to understand business requirements, frustrations, inefficiencies and unnecessary complexity.
- Design and implement the finance transformation strategy. Leading the delivery of approved change initiatives, ensuring they are delivered and embedded successfully.
- Provide leadership and management to our existing team of finance experts, creating opportunities for their learning and development and supporting their effective delivery of ongoing finance tasks.
- Ensure that our finance systems support high integrity, transparency, security, and data protection standards that are in line with charity law and good audit practices.
Essential Skills and Experience:
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to think strategically, outline a vision and get buy-in from business stakeholders.
- Significant finance transformation and business change experience, including the implementation of finance-related enterprise resource planning and other finance software/technical solutions.
- Significant experience with project accountancy, ideally at an organisation that works on multiple projects at a time.
- CCAB accountancy (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA) or equivalent qualification, along with substantial experience in financial analysis and stakeholder engagement.
- Essential Microsoft 365 application experience – Outlook, SharePoint and Excel.
- Significant experience in line management responsibilities, along with evidence of an ability to work effectively as part of a team.
