Director of Bioinformatics

Are you passionate about improving the lives of cancer patients through improved diagnostics?

After the successful launch of a cancer diagnostics product last year, this Cambridge based biotech are looking to expand their product offerings into genomic enrichment. You’ll be leading a multidisciplinary team of Bioinformaticians and Molecular Biologists to develop their new platform from clinical validation through to product launch. You will be a key player in developing the strategy for this product and will be working closely with the C-Suite.

Your responsibilities may include:

  • Strategic input on the companies product offerings and how they should be positioned within the market.
  • Lead the development of the company’s new product offering (Individual contributor and leading the team)
  • Be the oncology subject matter expert
  • Line management of a multidisciplinary team – coaching and developing these individuals
  • Oversee the design and execution of experiments
  • Ensure products adhear to company SD life cycle policies and quality & regulation requirements.
  • Work closely with cross functional teams, including commercial teams to identify market needs and partnership opportunities
  • Represent the company at conferences

After the successful launch of a cancer diagnostics product last year, this Cambridge based biotech are looking to expand their product offerings into genomic enrichment. Education & Experience:

  • PhD in Bioinformatics or related field
  • Minimum 5 year’s experience in industry setting
  • Experience leading bioinformatics teams in NGS data analysis
  • Strong background in oncology, ideally oncology diagnostics
  • Line management experience
  • Experience developing products in the healthcare space
  • Python proficiency
  • Stakeholder management experience

This is an exciting time for this biotech and they continue to scale up and grow following another successful funding round. You will have the opportunity to be a key decision maker within the company, influencing the companies direction for the future.
