Assistant Transport Manager Cullompton Chilled Operations
Potential earnings up to £38,000pa, depending on your experience
Assist in developing and implementing a comprehensive transport strategy aligning with company objectives, focusing on cost efficiency, sustainability, and customer satisfaction.
Supervise a team of approximately 50, including Drivers and Office Staff.
Support coordination and management of all freight transportation activities, ensuring timely deliveries and effective route planning.
Identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining service quality through continuous analysis of transportation expenses and implementation of efficient practices.
Assist in establishing KPIs for the transportation department, tracking metrics, and reporting performance to senior management.
Contribute to implementing risk management strategies to address transportation challenges and develop contingency plans.
Evaluate and recommend transportation management systems and relevant technologies to enhance processes and efficiency.
Assist in leading and motivating the transportation team, providing guidance, coaching, and fostering a positive work environment to achieve departmental goals.
Have a good understanding of legal compliance, driver's hours and WTD's.
Strong evidence of management skills and making key business decisions.
IT literate including MS Office. Strong analytic ability in review data and reports.
Previous experience of working within the FMCG transport industry, specifically chilled supply chain. - Proven experience in customer relationship management.
Have managed financial budgets and annual Profit and Loss responsibility.
Hold international or national CPC qualification and previous Transport Management experience. (CPC training provided for the right candidate)
Why Gregory Distribution?
Salary of between £36,500pa and £38,000pa, depending on experience.
Hours of work: Monday to Friday, 08:30hrs to 17:00hrs.
