*Job Purpose:* To assemble and build aluminium vehicle bodies from pressed kits, working from detailed engineering drawings. The role involves MIG and TIG welding (aluminium and steel), precise fitting, and use of workshop equipment including scissor lifts and overhead cranes (training provided). *Key Responsibilities:** *Body Assembly:** Build complete aluminium vehicle bodies from pre-pressed kit components. * Work from engineering drawings and build specifications to ensure accurate assembly. * Align, fix, and secure panels, sub-frames, brackets, and fittings. * *Welding & Fabrication:** Carry out high-quality MIG and TIG welding of aluminium. * MIG weld mild steel components where required. * Use power and hand tools to carry out fabrication tasks including drilling, grinding, and finishing. * *Workshop Operations:** Safely operate workshop machinery including scissor lifts and overhead cranes (training provided). * Maintain a tidy, organised, and safe work area. * Follow company health and safety policies and procedures at all times. * *Team Collaboration:** Work closely with other fabricators, fitters, and supervisors to complete builds to schedule. * Communicate effectively to flag issues, discrepancies, or material shortages. * Ensure high standards of workmanship and quality control. *Skills & Experience Required:** Proven experience in aluminium body building or similar fabrication work. * Strong MIG and TIG welding skills with both aluminium and mild steel. * Ability to read and work from technical drawings and build instructions. * Confident using hand tools, grinders, drills, and other workshop equipment. * Experience in vehicle or trailer body building (advantageous but not essential). *Qualifications:** NVQ Level 2/3 in Fabrication & Welding, Vehicle Body Building, or equivalent. * Welding certifications in MIG and TIG (desirable). * Forklift, scissor lift, or crane certification (training can be provided). *Personal Attributes:** Reliable, hardworking, and focused on quality. * Able to work independently and as part of a team. * Positive attitude with a willingness to learn. * Safety-conscious with attention to detail.
