Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Finance Manager to join our team in Halifax. The Finance Manager will be responsible for overseeing the accounting functions, conducting high-level reconciliations, and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data. This role requires a strong background in finance and accounting, coupled with relevant education or certification. The Finance Manager will report directly to the Finance Director (FD), collaborating closely to support strategic financial planning and execution. This is a hands-on role, requiring active involvement in daily financial operations and problem-solving.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage all accounting operations, including billing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger, and financial reporting.
  • Conduct high-level reconciliations to ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial records.
  • Review and analyze financial data, preparing detailed reports for management.
  • Oversee month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
  • Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to enhance the efficiency of financial operations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business objectives and decision-making.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to the accounting team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Work closely with the Finance Director to develop and execute financial strategies that align with company goals.
  • Assist the Finance Director in preparing financial presentations for senior management and stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Professional certification such as ACCA, CIMA, or ACA is highly desirable.
  • Proven experience as a Finance Manager or in a similar role.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and reconciliation processes.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and expertise in Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
