Mechanical Engineer

Guala Closures are a global leader in the production of closures for spirits, wine, edible oil, water and a wide range of other beverages.
An opportunity has arisen for a Mechanical Engineer on a continental shift basis. The role covers all aspects of engineering process and maintenance, reporting to the Assembly Engineering Team Leader. As well as sound engineering experience, the successful candidate will be comfortable working independently and possess strengths in problem-solving and prioritisation.
To ensure self and machines conform to SHE procedures and comply with defined working methods and risk assessments to deliver a continually improving SHE performance.
Be legally compliant in working with mechanical equipment and follow legislative guidance where in place.
Working closely with the wider engineering team to support completion of the planned maintenance schedule.
Quickly and efficiently diagnose faults across all areas of operations to support a high level of machine performance (OEE).
Ensure there is an effective communication link between all shifts, completing logbooks or other reports as required.
Work with Shift Manager and Engineering Team Leader in defining engineering priorities.
Work and maintain a high level of good housekeeping within the plant and minimise avoidable safety risks i.e., Work with others to identify areas for improvement and support with engineering solutions and support.
Fully qualified Mechanical Engineer with a minimum of 2 years’ experience in manufacturing
