This opportunity will involve working as part of a national practice of Design professionals delivering fire engineering design solutions to clients across a wide variety of sectors; including Cities & Development, Commercial, Energy, Residential and Transportation.
There is flexibility around where the role is based because although the majority of our current Fire Engineering team are based in the Derby and London offices there is an ambition to grow Fire Engineering teams in the North and South West. As a Principal Fire Engineer you will take responsibility for your own projects but also work collaboratively with other senior team members to develop the team and strengthen technical capability.
Work in a range of sectors from residential buildings through to rail transportation or new energy facilities.
Manage multiple engineering projects from inception through to delivery in support of fire safety standards and codes.
Support the delivery of project work within time and cost budgets.
Developing fire engineering solutions on projects and ensuring the fire engineering strategy is delivered.
Assess fire related risks in projects and working collaboratively to mitigate where possible.
Review and comment on the quality of fire safety related installations.
Prepare and review reports, lead fire engineering workshops.
Engineering degree, preferably fire engineering or alternatively a post graduate qualification in fire engineering. Chemical Engineering and Mechanical engineering accepted as well.
Experience in Fire Engineering.
Demonstrate a strong record of successfully delivering fire safety projects.
Grads and Fire Engineers.
Good commercial awareness.
Ability to collate information and have a clear and structured approach to report writing.
