Our client is one of the largest and fastest growing environmental consultancies in the world. From their large network of UK offices, their award-winning team of Water Engineering professionals, lead projects across a range of activities including river & coastal defence, surface water management, sustainable urban drainage design and flood alleviation schemes.
In addition to a variety of major long-term frameworks that they currently support across the UK, their hard work has culminated in the award of the Better Rivers framework by United Utilities, within which they will lead the design and project management of numerous schemes to improve our rivers across the Region.
Senior Civil Design Engineers
In additional to the Better Rivers framework, you would also have the chance to be involved with a broad spectrum of projects as part of the prestigious AMP8 programme leading into AMP9 and beyond.
This is a great opportunity to not just be involved with a diverse range of exciting projects and collaborate with leading minds in the industry. As a valuable part of the team, you will play a crucial role in the water industry, and work with the largest water companies in the region, ensuring a positive and enduring influence on communities.
You will support optioneering, outline, and detailed design for a diverse range of projects. You will instruct, supervise, and mentor junior staff in the design and management of schemes and work with clients to ensure delivery of projects to time and cost, and to help manage change. You will be supported by the senior technical leadership team throughout the delivery of your projects.
Supporting the Principal Engineer in managing projects, and preparing conceptual, schematic, and detailed design of water and wastewater infrastructure assets including treatment works, pumping stations, sewers, and pumping mains.
Creating an outline and detailed design drawings, as well as associated construction-ready documentation.
Generating concise and well-organised design calculations, reports, drawings, and other deliverables, including both outline and detailed design drawings and relevant construction-ready documentation.
Collaborating with contractors, the supply chain, and various project stakeholders.
Mentoring and providing support for the professional development of junior team members..
Demonstrated proficiency in technical design across multiple disciplines within project environments.
Good grasp and working knowledge of relevant British Standards, UK Industry Codes of Practice, and Water Specifications.
Preferably degree qualified in Civil Engineering or a relevant technical subject. Postgraduate qualifications are an advantage.
