The Intensive Home Treatment Team (IHTT) at Airedale General Hospital are looking for a highly motivated Clinical Psychologist or Psychological Therapist to join our busy team. With a passion for working with individuals in crisis, the successful candidate will play a key role in leading the development of psychological therapies in IHTT, supporting the Care Closer to Home agenda. You will drive psychologically informed care within the team supporting formulation development to inform care planning and risk management.


Working together with psychological therapists from across the Acute Community Service area, you will develop innovative ways of delivering crisis-focused psychological therapies. We are a small and supportive team of clinical and counselling psychologists and psychological therapists who are passionate about increasing access for clients and carers to meaningful trauma-informed and neuroaffirmative support in their time of need. We are working to increase co-production across our service area and encourage working with Involvement Workers and Experts by Experience to support continued improvement.
You will be responsible for providing a rage of adapted time-limited, evidence-informed interventions and knowledge and previous training in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy or Solution Focused Therapy will be an advantage. You will deliver expert clinical supervision, consultation and advice on psychological therapies to staff from multiple disciplines working with individuals in mental health crises.

Doctoral level training in clinical/counselling psychology, including specifically models of psychopathology, clinical psychometrics and neuropsychology, two or more distinct psychological therapies and lifespan developmental psychology as accredited by the BPS. or Formal Qualification in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Systemic Family Therapy - Registered with the recognised and relevant accreditation body.


Previous mental health qualification e.g. Post Graduate Certificate in Primary Care Mental Health. Pre-qualification training and qualifications in research methodology, staff training and/or other fields of applied psychology. Experience of specialist psychological assessment and intervention of clients across the full range of care settings. Experience of utilising the Care Program Approach & risk management. Delivering Clinical Supervision Application of evidenced based psychological therapies relevant to the clinical service.


Experience of working with Acute in patient settings and/or Intensive Home Treatment Teams Experience in applying specialist psychological therapies.


Evidenced based psychological therapies relevant to the clinical service Relevant specialist clinical courses/training. Understanding of the care programme approach and the Mental Health Act.


Involvement in clinical research programmes.


Mental health assessment/formulation. Ability to communicate and liaise effectively with practitioners, secondary mental health services and other agencies. Skills in risk assessment and risk management. Planning and organising skills for caseload management.


Willing to be flexible and adaptable in accordance with changing service operational priorities. Able to fulfil Occupational Health requirements for the post (with reasonable adjustments if necessary). Ability to work in a range of settings, including: service user's own home, clinic settings, & inpatient environments. Ability to travel to and from locations across the Bradford & Airedale district. Appearance - professional, clean, willing to adhere to dress standards policy.
