Head of Estimating - Construction, Salary: £80-90k + car + excellent benefits package, Based out of Morley, Leeds with some travel to customer sites across the UK.
The Head of Estimating is responsible for leading the estimating function and providing accurate and competitive cost estimates for modular construction projects. This role primarily focuses on projects for the Ministry of Defence, Ministry of Justice, education, healthcare, and retail sectors. The Head of Estimating will play a crucial role in ensuring the profitability and success of projects by providing reliable estimates and collaborating closely with stakeholders.
Cost Estimation: Lead the estimating process for new projects, including analyzing project requirements, conducting site visits, and preparing accurate cost estimates.
Value Engineering: Collaborate with the design and engineering teams to evaluate alternative materials, construction methods, and cost-saving measures without compromising quality.
Risk Assessment: Identify potential risks and uncertainties in project estimates, and develop mitigation strategies to minimize financial exposure.
Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate closely with internal teams, including project managers, engineers, and procurement, to ensure accurate and cohesive estimations.
Client Relationship Management: Engage with clients during the estimation process, providing clarifications, addressing concerns, and building strong relationships.
Bachelor's degree in construction management, quantity surveying, or a related field. Master's degree is preferred.
Excellent analytical and mathematical skills, with the ability to interpret complex project requirements and develop accurate cost estimates.
Proficiency in estimating software and tools, as well as Conquest.
