A Snapshot of Your Day
In this crucial role, you'll play a key part in ensuring the financial success of our Erection and Commissioning projects with the opportunity to work on 4 different business units. The role will include travel to sites (Scotland and England) with travel to Siemens Energy sites and offices (Newcastle and Manchester) within the UK (approximately 30% of the time).
How You'll Make an Impact

  • Manage and drive financial reporting for assigned projects, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Implement and uphold cost control measures to keep projects within budget.
  • Analyse project financials and identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, commercial managers, and project managers to ensure financial alignment, ensuring strong relationships with site business partners.
  • Conduct monthly site reviews to assess cost-to-complete, identify lessons learned, and share insights with relevant departments for continuous improvement.
  • Compile and analyse project variation reports, identifying underlying trends to proactively manage project budgets.
  • Analyse forecast accuracy and track cost variations, providing clear reports on cost-to-complete and ensuring project budgets stay on track.
  • Raising and reviewing purchase orders, including monthly review of spend against POs, reporting spend against budget, and purchase vs hire reporting.
  • Analyses commercial needs and works with operations to develop and implement process improvements for mutual benefit.
  • Management of subcontracts, including cost control, budget monitoring, and schedule adherence.
What You Bring
  • Experience in financial control and/or commercial project management, ideally within the energy sector.
  • Ability to forge strong relationships with stakeholders across departments and effectively manage their requirements.
  • CIMA/ACCA qualified (or equivalent experience) with a strong understanding of financial processes.
  • Possess advanced Excel skills and experience with SAP systems.
  • Demonstrate an analytical mindset and a passion for tackling complex projects. About the Team The role works within the Finance and Commercial department supporting Erection and Commissioning, working alongside buyers both operational and strategic and supplier quality engineers.
