Coventry Building Society have a rewarding new role for a Lead Risk Analyst is, within CIDO. This is a leadership role in our IT Governance, Risk and Controls team and will take ownership of IT Risk Management. The role will support the development, setup and delivery of the strategy leading on key areas in CIDO. The Lead Risk Analyst is a technical expert with governance, risk and control expertise and skills in an IT and enterprise-wide risk context, a talented communicator and stakeholder engagement manager playing a key role to ensure resilience across The Society.
The role holder will be a subject matter expert who will guide where possible, and mandate where essential, while engaging positively with all staff including when required, including Executive and Board, through day-to-day operational compliance capabilities and duties. Providing leadership across a range of risk management matters, reviewing, writing, and owning the IT Risk RCSA – Risk Control Security Assessment framework.
Acting as an owner for elements of 2nd and 3rd line assurance functions within the society, ensuring an efficient, effective, and comprehensive governance, risk, and control environment across IT, aligning to the enterprise risk management framework. The ability to deputise when required, in IT Risk monthly Committees and Forums, overseeing the production of regular, timely and accurate reporting and committee papers, presenting, and influencing of Technology related risks to relevant Management and Risk committees.

About youYou’ll be a personable, creative and enthusiastic Lead Risk Analyst who can adapt and apply their experience and expertise to the Policies, Standards, GRC Frameworks and Risk Management Systems in place at the Society. With the capacity to engage, influence, inform and gain the trust of colleagues at all levels of management, with an excellent understanding of the principles of IT governance, risk and compliance management and the associated regulatory environment.
You’ll be influential, able to challenge senior stakeholders whilst maintaining relationships, informally and through papers and presentations. You’ll demonstrate critical thinking and analysis, using risk analysis, business intelligence and general problem-solving techniques to achieve outcomes and be able to work to a high degree of accuracy. Providing engaging management, developing the team through training and coaching, and inspiring them to perform to a high standard in all key areas.
