Based in Bromborough, Teledyne CML Composites is a fast-growing manufacturer, supplying carbon/glass fibre composite parts and assemblies to some of the world’s leading aircraft and aero engine producers. Operating across three distinct product groups namely commercial, defence and business jet products, this role is an opportunity to join a team putting the finishing touches to our highly technical products.
The manufacturing facility houses some of the most advanced machining technology in Europe such as a multi-axis NDT robotic machine, automated material cutting machine and multi axis CNC machining centres. Due to planned absence from the business, we're looking for an Interim Financial Controller for the site, reporting into the Group FC.
The Financial Controller will oversee all financial matters pertaining to Teledyne CML Composites, including US GAAP based on monthly accounts, provision of rolling forecasts and business plans based on UK & US businesses. The General Manager is often remote requiring a close level of communications to ensure issues and opportunities are dealt with in a timely manner.
Review monthly management accounts prepared by financial accountant and ensure timely circulation of Key Performance Indicators and variances against budget and forecasts, optimising information content for non-financial users
Work with Department Heads to provide measurement and monitoring of each department’s performance, supporting lean initiatives by analysing daily/weekly data to ensure optimal shop floor performance
Ensure provision of weekly manufacturing efficiency and poor performing job data to GM and management team
Contract review to include initial customer credit review, pricing and margin assessment, FX impact including embedded derivative status and payment terms
Liaise with internal audit team
Ensure all necessary data is provided for annual tax returns, maximising tax relief
Manage, motivate and ensure the training and development of the Finance department
Establish strong communication channels with senior US segment management and UK head office
Senior Management Responsibilities:
The FC role is part of the site SMT, contributing to the delivery of short term, and construction of long term business strategy
Recommend courses of action with ensure profit opportunities are maximised, either arising from known changes, to environmental matters of specific financial nature, or from any other reason
Due to the nature of the role, we're looking for an experienced Financial Controller, with a background in working with Manufacturing businesses, ideally within an Engineering based environment.
You must be a fully qualified accountant with CIMA, ACCA or equivalent along with proven PQE.
This is an interim contract position, and due to timelines, we're looking for somebody who is immediately available or within 1-2 weeks.
