Overview

Our client, a global digital and physical solutions provider, is looking to expand its Software Development function, to manage source repositories, build pipelines and delivery pipeline, across multiple complex systems. The Software Platforms Infrastructure Engineer underpins much of the development function.

Established over 200 years ago, the business holds over 1000 patents through continuous innovation, and employs over 2300 people globally.

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Create simple, maintainable build and delivery pipelines, ensuring builds are consistently delivered into environments with high reliability.
  • Drive timely delivery of software that addresses areas of value and risk for the Development Team.
  • Work closely across the multi-disciplinary team to ensure the team delivers its commitments.
  • Continuously drive improvement with yourself, the team, and the department through ways of working with more agility and introducing technologies.
  • Promote knowledge sharing across the team and departments, ensuring that we work as closely and effectively as possible.

Key Requirements:

 

  • Ability to design infrastructure solutions to meet complex and challenging user requirements.
  • Knowledge of IP networking, DNS, Load balancing and Reverse Proxies.
  • Knowledge of Active Directory and Group Policy.
  • Experience of managing Windows, Ubuntu, and Debian.
  • Hands-on experience of designing and maintaining deployment solutions, e.g. Octopus Deploy (Desirable)
  • Experience of containerization and deployments within Azure and on-premise (Desirable)
  • Knowledgeable in Terraform or similar infrastructure as code technologies (Desirable)
  • Knowledgeable in Ansible or similar infrastructure configuration management technologies (Desirable)
  • Ability to set and manage priorities judiciously.
  • Ability to articulate and gain engagement for ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to motivate in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
