Our client is a long-established global company supplying specialist security products for various industries worldwide.

They are currently seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer, involved in producing designs of a variety of engineering structures for their specialist equipment.

You will be involved in projects at all stages of the product lifecycle, from initial concept , new product introduction and continuous improvement in manufacture.

You will be expected to produce design concepts and designs for complex solutions including general assembly drawings, fabricated structures, sheet metalwork, machined components and hydraulic systems.

Requirements

* A HNC or higher in mechanical engineering is although equivalent industrial experience will be considered.

* Strong background in the creation of new design concepts for large, fabricated products.

* Understanding of skills required to develop complex electro-mechanical assemblies.

* Experience of design for manufacture, with a background in a production or an operations environment would be beneficial.

* SolidWorks design experience is essential, with a proven track record in the design of fabrications, sheet metalwork and machined components.

* The ability to work with other design packages such as Autodesk Inventor would be beneficial.

* A working knowledge of Engineering calculations and how to apply them in practice.

* A working knowledge of a PLM/PDM software system such as Agile would be beneficial #J-18808-Ljbffr
