We are looking to appoint a Deputy Manager in our Supported Accommodation Team, to work alongside the manager to support 16 plus year old young people, in care, to live in supported a ccommodation and get them ready for independent living.

The role

To assist the Registered Manager in the overall running of the homes, In line with the requirements of Supported Accommodation legislation and regulations, any other relevant legislation and Warrington Borough Council’s Policies and Procedures.

You will work 37 hours a week Monday to Friday and also from time to time be expected to support 2 sleeps a week and potentially some weekends, were cover is needed across the homes.

There is also opportunity to complete some of the roll at home.

You will also benefit from 20% enhancements Monday to Friday 7pm to 7am and 30% enhancements from 7pm to 7am on Saturday and Sunday. 

What's needed?

NVQ level 3 in care of children & young people or a diploma in social care. E

Experience of working with children and young people in a social care setting. E

Understanding of young people's needs and behaviours and evidence of having effectively contributed to responding to those needs to enable them to reach full potential. E

Demonstrates a flexibility of approach E

Proven interpersonal skills to be able to represent the interests of the home in a positive way. E

Accepts responsibility and accountability for own work, understands the limits of his/her role. Is able to complete work by set deadline, seeks and uses professional support constructively.

Evidence of ability to contribute effectively to a team providing high quality care in a safe and stable setting E

Experience of working in a setting where a calm manner and reflective attitude is needed. E

The ability to converse at ease with customers and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential for the post.
