Senior Mechanical Engineer in Cambridge at Shred – Tech
Formulate, initiate and develop mechanical machine design processes in all aspects.
Research, design and coordinate building of new product models and improvements to existing Shred-Tech product line.
Create and maintain proper engineering documentation, including BOMs, drawings, ECN’s. In each case proper engineering procedures must be followed.
Create 3D models and manufacturing drawings utilizing 3D (SolidWorks) CAD systems.
Coordinate projects, liaise with suppliers, perform test and validation, research and development and have hands-on involvement in product and component design.
Work closely with manufacturing engineering and production personnel in the building of prototype equipment to ensure conformity to engineering design, customer specifications and Design for manufacturability
Execute projects to achieve goals and objectives as set forth by the Director of Engineering. 
Implement Product Development and Engineering Standards consistent with Shred-Tech objectives.
Assist in developing project plans, budgets and schedules that are achievable and satisfy business requirements.
Manage assigned projects and provide weekly status reports to ensure achievement of defined objectives: deliverables, timing, budgets.
Provide detailed analyses of components, assemblies and systems.
Prepare engineering documentation, drawings, BOM’s, ECN’s and product manuals.
Responsible for supervision of assigned projects.
Ensures adherence to New Product Development process and PD/Engineering procedures.
Mechanical Engineer, P. Eligible, Sc in Mechanical Engineering or Equivalent
Experience: 10+ years of design, analysis and project management in custom equipment, heavy machinery, metal fabrication, system assembly and testing.
Experience in SolidWorks, FEA, and ERP/MRP systems
Experience in mechanical design – gear, drive and hydraulic design an asset.
