You’ll join our expert team of experienced Security Professionals, so you can learn directly from the best. You’ll help to provide technical support on complex network security and cyber security deployments for our UK secure contracts. Working across a variety of different platforms and technologies, including Data Centre Servers, Networking and Cloud based tools, you’ll develop a wide range of skills and experience.

This role is vital in delivering a best-in-class customer service experience to all of our clients. The security team makes sure appropriate actions are taken to reduce the risk of incidents and maintain services, to avoid any impact to the customer’s set up.

It’s a job that involves a lot of teamwork; everyone relies on and helps each other to do the best job possible for our business customers. You’ll have a lot going on at once and can be managing lots of complex workloads and competing priorities. But we’ll work with you to make sure you can manage it.

What you’ll be doing

You'll be joining a security team that supports our government customers and you will be developing your career pathway working with a diverse and multi- disciplinary engineering team, delivering complex software that solve our customers problems.

  • Designing, creating and testing brand new concepts in security software for our customers across the globe.
  • Research cutting edge software solutions across a variety of projects and develop software systems and automation
  • Working with specialists in areas to innovate the world of security products
  • Using agile ways of working, creating everything form proofs of concept to national and international solutions using DevOps technologies
The skills & experience you’ll need

The role is also subject to you gaining and keeping the necessary level of security clearance needed to undertake your work. The result of the security clearance vetting is not subject to appeal. Failure to successfully achieve and maintain the necessary level of security clearance may see any offer of employment with BT cease or withdrawn.

We will also be looking for the following:

• A 2.2 degree or higher in a relevant STEM subject.

• Knowledge of network technologies and practices such as: WAN, LAN, SDWAN, Wi-Fi, cloud computing.

• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

• The ability to simplify complex technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.

Desired but not essential:

• Knowledge or experience of contact centre, video, collaboration, or voice technologies.
